Hello, Herman and welcome to this interview.
Hello Annie.
It is nice to be here.
So tell me, Herman. What is the purpose of the web program - Make Me Happy For Life?
The web program is designed to provide positive psychology help to the general public.
It is a place where people can get information about happiness and engage in interactive exercises that promote the skills and techniques that a person needs to improve their experience of happiness.
Is it a website?
It is not a website in the traditional sense, although we do use web technologies.
It is more of an online and interactive program where a person can get information and do functional exercises to improve their happiness and wellbeing.
What do you mean by positive psychology help?
Our programs and videos, when completed in the way suggested, are designed to use positive psychology techniques to help people improve their level of wellbeing.
Can you explain what you mean by wellbeing?
Wellbeing is what someone believes their own level of satisfaction in life to be.
This is your own perception of your levels of hope, optimism, resilience and happiness.
What sort of person would typically come to use your web program?
There are two types of people.
The first is someone who is inquisitive about happiness and how happiness works and the second is someone looking for help.
For the first, there are educational videos.
For the second group, there are educational videos, instructions, exercises and methods that the person can use to make positive changes in their life.
How long does it take to complete the web program?
Our program is designed to typically last for 12 weeks, some may take less or longer, it depends on how much time a person wants to put into their learning.
There is no limit to how long someone can continue to use the program.
How does a person measure their progress?
Every person who engages with the web program is required to take the Oxford Happiness Questionnaire to get a baseline of their happiness, and then we test again after a period, typically after 30 days, to see if there is any reported improvement in their level of happiness.
Is this an educational program?
It is a learning program, education is one part of it, there are educational videos on the site.
Education is provided in order to enable the person to have the knowledge to complete the exercises on the web program and achieve the required change in level of wellbeing.
Therefore, it is not a traditional education website as such.
Why is it called Make Me Happy For Life?
It is expected that anything a person learns on this web program will be skills they can use for the rest of their life.
There are refresher items provided that can be used at any later stage.
New training videos are produced monthly which will keep any person who is registered up to date with any new thinking in the field of happiness.
Your involvement is intended to be for life, with you entering a state of continuous improvement for a long time.
Who is your intended audience?
Any person of any age who believes that they are not yet experiencing an optimal version of themselves in terms of happiness and a positive outlook on life.
Is there a cost involved with your web program?
Yes and no.
Any person can watch the videos.
To do the surveys and questionnaires once the only requirement is to register and log in.
All other activities can be accessed on a try before you buy basis.
If a person wishes to proceed through the full program, they will be required to purchase a nominal subscription.
Thank you for your time. I look forward to seeing the program in action.
